Our Mission
The Eighty Club Melbourne is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit organization established solely for charitable community service purposes.
Our Objectives
"Caring for the Less Fortunate" is the catchphrase and motto of the Eighty Club Melbourne. It has as its main objective, the relief of poverty in Australia and the Burgher community in Sri Lanka who, by reason of youth, age, infirmity, disablement, poverty, homelessness, educational disadvantage, and/or social and economic circumstances have a need for assistance in every form, including monetary gifts or pensions, special purpose donations, educational and training supplements, food, clothing and other basic needs.
With respect to relief of poverty in Australia, such relief shall include monetary gifts to charities approved by Federal or State Governments and their Instrumentalities.
Our Commitment - Your Support
Support for the objectives of the Eighty Club Melbourne and our commitment to 'Caring for the Less Fortunate' is due to the generosity and goodwill of our members, who pay a small subscription of A$2.50 per month and together with their friends and associates, patronise our fund raising events.
The Eighty Club Melbourne circulates newsletters to members about activities and achievements, organize fundraising events, raffles, special appeals, solicit donations for both specific and general purposes and perform all such matters that are incidental to and conducive to the maximization of its purpose and objectives.
The Eighty Club Melbourne in 2007 celebrated the Silver Jubilee of "Caring for the Less Fortunate". Our history of 25 years of sevice has been made possible only by the generosity and kindness of our wellwishers.
